  • Anonymous : I was fired from a salon because I told a white mother than she as neglecting her mixed daughter. Her daughter was 4 years old and her hair was almost to the point where it needed to be shaved. It was clearly not brushed often. When I offered to show the mother some basic ways to maintain her daughters hair naturally, she outright refused. She complained to the manager and I was fired directly after I completed the service. Which, they gave to her to her for free.

Wow. I’m sorry you had to go through that. And I feel sorry for the child who will probably not learn about proper hair care for a while if her mother has anything to say about it.

That’s why I am so wary towards white people who want to be parents of black children or children with black ancestry if they don’t look like they are really interested in learning about how to raise and protect the child

As if they just want a child just for novelty.
